Rebecca DeVaney artist statement:
My concept is simple - You be the art. You should be depicted as what you are; a living, breathing, thinking being.
Writer Paul Johnson stated it best in his fascinating book Art: A New History by suggesting that through art and its metaphors, we are able to
share our experience of existence with others. This notion combined with the fact that the invention of photography is responsible for
setting off an explosion in impressionism art, leaves me unsettled with its deceleration over time. Now is an era when digital gadgets
have removed much of the warmth, sensitivity and compassion out of our images. I'm pleased to say, I'm bringing it back.
